Every love story is different. This is the concept that proves it.
Ethereal Glow
There is a kind of light that does not come from any one place. It gathers overhead, settles on the walls, and moves softly across every surface until the whole room seems to be lit from within. Guests walk in and slow down without realising it. Some weddings are designed to create that feeling and hold it for an entire evening.
Ethereal Glow was designed from that feeling.
The Concept
A grand wedding is often imagined as a formal ballroom, with a stage at one end, round tables, and a chandelier or two at the centre. Ethereal Glow is not that concept. It begins with a single spatial idea: that the room should feel like a grove, and the light should feel like part of it.
The most striking decision is the structure itself. Sculpted columns rise from the floor and branch into arches overhead, their surfaces woven in open, flowing lattices that resemble the trunks of ancient trees. They turn a large hall into a series of sheltered spaces without a single wall being added, and they frame the long aisle at the centre of the room like a processional avenue.
From these arches hang hundreds of lanterns. Each is finished in aged bronze and cut with fine geometric patterns, so that the light inside escapes in a delicate lace and casts patterned shadows over the columns, the tables, and the guests below. Their sizes and heights vary, which gives the ceiling a canopy-like depth. It feels less like a lighting installation and more like a night sky made of lanterns.
At floor level, the design follows the same generosity. Long marble-topped tables run on either side of the central aisle, and low, curved sofas create quiet lounge areas between the columns. Nothing is large for the sake of impressing a visitor. Everything is shaped so that guests feel held by the room rather than lost in it.
The palette
The colour story of Ethereal Glow is built on the relationship between ivory, bronze, and green. Warm white forms the foundation, covering the sculpted columns, the marble, the upholstery, and the polished floor. Bronze enters as the accent, in the lantern frames and their glowing cut-work, and a soft mauve in the carved walls behind the columns gives the room a quiet, dusky backdrop.
What gives the palette its depth is the flowers. Lush green hydrangeas, ferns, and glossy anthurium leaves run in thick, generous garlands down the centre of each table, and deep burgundy blooms are placed within them like small points of flame. The green is explored in many shades, from pale lime to forest, so the arrangements feel as though they were gathered from a garden rather than assembled. Against so much cream and bronze, the green and red bring the room to life.
It is also a palette that responds to its setting. Under the warm glow of the lanterns, the ivory surfaces take on a soft golden tint, the mauve walls deepen, and the greens look richer the closer one gets. The room feels gentle at first glance and more luxurious the longer one stays in it.
The architecture of the space
The photographs from this celebration show how completely the venue was reimagined. The woven columns are sculpted in a pale, plaster-like finish, with open diamond-shaped cut-outs that let light and shadow pass through them. Overhead, the lanterns hang in dense clusters, their pierced metalwork glowing amber against the arches. The walls behind them are carved with Islamic patterns and framed by slim pillars, finished in a soft mauve that recedes into the evening light.
The central aisle is an expanse of pale stone, patterned with pools of light that fall from the lanterns above and shift as guests move across it. It leads the eye from one end of the hall to the other without any instruction.
The seating is as considered as the architecture. Chairs in cream velvet, gathered in soft pleats and set on slim black legs with gold tips, bring warmth and intimacy to the dining. Between the tables, rounded cream sofas are layered with patterned cushions in deep green, which echo the flowers on the tables. The tables themselves are set with plates edged in teal and gold, green glass tumblers, and elegant pale green boxes with gold detailing placed among the flowers. Even the smallest elements carry the same pattern language as the lanterns overhead, and the plated starters arrive looking like part of the design.
What the photographs cannot fully show is the experience of walking through it. The way the columns frame each view, the way the lantern light seems to move as you pass beneath it, and the hush that falls when guests first enter are things that can only be felt in person.
The occasion this concept is for
Ethereal Glow was designed for celebrations where the guest list is large and the couple wants the room to feel like one shared experience rather than a collection of separate tables. It suits families who gather in numbers, who value long, generous communal dining, and who want a setting that feels both rooted in tradition and entirely contemporary.
It is for couples who are drawn to craft and atmosphere, and who would rather their wedding be remembered for the feeling of the entire room than for a single backdrop. In Dubai and across the UAE, where celebrations are often large and the standard for hospitality is high, Ethereal Glow honours that generosity through a more sculptural, more architectural language, with the warmth of Arabic pattern and lantern light at its heart.
What Worood created
The complete Ethereal Glow environment, including concept direction, sculptural column and arch design, suspended lantern installation, table and seating design, floral design, tableware styling, floor design, lighting, and full venue transformation, was designed and delivered by the Worood team. It represents one of the most atmospheric concepts in the Worood portfolio, requiring close coordination between design, fabrication, floral work, and lighting so that every element could read as part of one idea.
Your Ethereal Glow
This concept is developed in detail around each couple and each occasion that chooses it, including the scale of the room, the density and pattern of the lanterns, the depth of the green and burgundy across the flowers, the arrangement of the tables and lounges, and the personal details woven into the larger composition. The character of Ethereal Glow is fixed. Everything within it is built around you and the celebration you are planning.
